The Clifton Singers perform mostly unaccompanied music, from the Renaissance period or earlier to present-day compositions. We give concerts in and around Bristol, often in churches to a local audience. We welcome new members; more information is available here.
Recent performances have been given in the churches of Barrow Gurney, St. Paul's Clifton, and Frenchay. The concerts are normally just before Easter, in June or July, and in December.
Our next concert will be at Clifton Cathedral, on Sunday 16th December 2018, at 4.00 p.m., entitled "From Darkness to Light". The programme will include movements from Walford Davies' Short Requiem and Poulenc's Christmas Motets. Admission is free, there will be a retiring collection.
On Saturday 23rd March 2019 we will give a lunchtime concert at 1.15 p.m., in the Lord Mayor's Chapel, College Green. The programme will include Moeran's Songs of Springtime and some madrigals. On 23rd June we will be singing a similar programme at Salem Chapel, Watley's End, Winterbourne. More details to follow.
