The Clifton Singers perform mostly unaccompanied music, from the Renaissance period or earlier to present-day compositions. We give concerts in and around Bristol, often in churches to a local audience. We welcome new members; more information is available here.
Recent performances have been given in the churches of Barrow Gurney, St. Paul's Clifton, and Frenchay. The concerts are normally just before Easter, in June or July, and in December.
Our next concert will be at St. Nicholas, Nore Road, Portishead, on Sunday 13th May at 7.30 p.m. The programme will include music by the Renaissance composer Lassus, and 19th and early 20th century partsongs. Admission is free, there will be a Retiring Collection in aid of church funds.
On Sunday 20th May at 6.00 p.m., in All Saints, Clifton, we are taking part in a concert with All Saints choir, in memory of Ken Smith, our first conductor and former conductor of All Saints choir. Admission is free, Retiring Collection.
We will be giving a concert in Knowle Methodist Church on Saturday 23rd June at 7.30 p.m. More details to follow.
